What is your photography style? We like to think we're constantly learning new things about photography, often via our contacts on Flickr who provide us with great examples of the cutting edge of photography. We are unashamedly new to the photography business, but we feel that already we have an impressive portfolio of different events and different styles of photography, and we're always willing to build in any particular styles you might wish to see emphasised in photos of your big day.
An example, we really like taking candid shots during wedding days; they often capture wonderful expressions that reflect the happy feel of the day, and will give you memories for many years to come of those who attended your special day. Of course though, if you seek a slightly different composition of photos for your event, don't hesitate to tell us as we're happy to bend and change to suit your needs! What do your wedding packages look like?We base our packages more on time intervals rather than set detailed packages. We generally say we are available for either 4 or 8 hours for a given event, but we are happy to be flexible about that - do get in touch and we can chat about details.
Are you happy travelling?Sure! All we do ask for if you do wish for us to travel significant distances from Oxford (more than 20 miles) is that you provide reasonable travel expenses (e.g. petrol).
What happens before our event? We always plan to meet with you before your big day. This is a very important part of the process because it allows us to learn what your hopes and expectations are for your day - what you hope to get from your big day to help you remember it for years to come.
In the case of weddings, we also offer engagement photo packages also (for examples of engagement shoots see our Flickr collection), and this as well as giving you some lovely photos to use for wedding promotional material as well as something to put on the mantlepiece or online. As well as that aspect of engagement photos, engagement photos serve as a dry run for the big day - you can let us know what kinds of photos you like, and we can work out which things work, and which things might not be appropriate when the big day arrives. The engagement photos are also a great way to help us get to know you - we fully believe that better photos result from a friendly rapport between those photographing and those being photographed! Will you get in our way on our big day?Of course not! Our intention is to record your special day in as unobtrusive a manner as possible! It's your day, and it goes without saying that you choose the things you want to do on that day! We may, based on our experience and the experience of others we know in the business, make suggestions about particular aspects (where to take photos, when, and how - e.g. with the family photos) - but the bottom line is that it's your event and you choose what happens! The only minor thing we will ask is that dependent on the package you choose, you do ensure that the events you really want photographed take place while we are with you.
What can you provide us with after the event? We obviously after the event want to look back through the photos we took, and decide which ones are the best ones, and then touch them up accordingly before presenting you with the photos. This can take a few weeks, particularly in the busy summer months, but we commit to providing you with a small number of top quality initial photos within two weeks so that in the case of a wedding, on return from your honeymoon you can start sharing the memories in whatever way you want to (thank you cards, etc).
Before your event we can discuss with you exactly what you want post-event. We'll at a minimum provide you with a DVD with top quality photos for you to do what you wish with them. We only ask you don't use our photos for commercial purposes without consulting us first. How much do you cost?We have a fairly simple set of fees. You can essentially choose how long you want us at your event for, and within that time fill it with the things you'd like. We charge £500 for 4 hours, and £900 for 8 hours, and all we ask is that if you want particular things captured, please ensure they are happening within the time we'll be with you!
If you want additional extras (photo albums, prints, posters etc), we can discuss these either in our initial meeting, or as we correspond throughout the time we are working together on your event. How can we be sure you'll do what you say?Fear not! We will sit down and agree a (reasonably) detailed contract stating exactly what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you - that way you can hold us to account!
Are you beginners who got a DSLR for Christmas?Absolutely not! We are fresh-faced and relatively new, we're happy to admit, but we've also got a good stock of experience in general photo-taking, and also within the last few years of taking photos as events, as our Flickr photostream should make clear.
We've both had DSLR cameras for many years, and we have plenty of experience with post-processing of photos in order to create perfect and unique shots for you to help you remember your big event for years and years to come! What about our friends who want to take photos? That's absolutely fine by us - all we'd ask is that they don't get in the way for the important moments!
Do you do events other than weddings?Yep. We've done Christenings, baby shoots, family shoots, sports matches and many other church events, and we're always keen to expand our horizons and try new things. If you have something you might want photographed, let us know, we'd love to chat with you about it!
